Keep Your Vancouver Kids Fit

Posted by: Phil   in Child Health

Keep Your Vancouver Kids Fit An important element in any BC child’s health is physical activity. Most young Delta children are busy exploring their world and don’t need any encouragement to run, skip, or jump. But spontaneous activities like these may decline during the tween years when most Richmond children begin spending more time on indoor activities like TV watching, video game playing, and texting.

As Vancouver parents we need to be more proactive during these years to make sure our kids are physically fit. Helping them choose a popular Vancouver sport such as soccer, baseball, or skiing is an excellent way to encourage activity.

Provide active toys such as jump ropes, hula hoops, bikes, and roller blades and limit sedentary activities like movie watching.

Model the physically active behavior you want your Delta child to have. Take walks with your kids. Take advantage of Vancouver recreational options. Go snow boarding, swimming, or hiking with them to show them that being active and fit is important to you.

Active Richmond kids need healthy between-meal snacks such as dried fruit, nuts, string cheese, and protein bars. As a child’s health advocate in BC, I would love to share one of my favorite super-nutritious snacks with you. Please contact me today!
